Esports at the Olympic Games

The Youth Olympic Games has become a portal into the future of the Olympic Games and in Lausanne this year, it was no exception. For the first time in Olympic history, esports was part of the programme. It wasn't an Olympic sport, but it was part of the Olympic cultural programme, perhaps the place where it belongs.

The event took the shape of a Rocket League showcase competition, but there was even more in the programme, with a dedicated independent gaming exhibition set up in the city.
